Industrial Court beats Federal High Court to win CJN 2021 Cup

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria sports club beat the Federal High Court at the final of the 27th edition of Chief Justice of Nigeria Games hosted in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, with over 3,000 athletes featured in 11 sporting events.

 

The Hon. President, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, Ph.D. was the first to congratulate the National Industrial Court Sports Club after they crushed the Federal High Court Sports Club 4 - 3 on penalty in the final of the 2021 Chief Justice of Nigeria Annual Sports Festival.

 

Justice Kanyip who was represented by the presiding and administrative Judge of the Yenagoa Judicial division, Hon. Justice Bashar Alkali congratulated and rejoiced with the team after the final whistle at the Yenagoa Stadium, Bayelsa State. Justice Kanyip described Sports as a tool for national unity which must be embraced by all, praised the entire team for their display of patriotism and competency.

 

Furthermore, The Chief Registrar, Olurotimi Daudu who was represented by the Yenagoa Divisional Registrar, Anselem Ejiogu Esq in solidarity with the team also joins millions of football-loving fans in the judiciary in celebrating the very-much improved court team for meeting expectations during their games and action-soaked encounter.

 

The Chief Registrar commended the sports committee led by Mr. Olalekan Aminu, Mr. Musa, Mr. Anthony Idibia, Amos Makochi, Francis Akila, and other team members for displaying unbeatable strength, determination, and high professionalism for winning Gold in the football competition for the third time in a row.

 

Also in his remark, the Sports committee Chairman, Mr. Olalekan Aminu praised the entire team for their display of professionalism and competency.

 

Also speaking, the team coach, Mr. Bakare Bolaji expressed optimum appreciation from the management for their contributions in bringing this winning to reality. He also praised the team for their show of steadfastness.

In all, the Industrial Court sports club won 5 trophies in handball male/female, Volleyball-male/female, Football, and 3 gold in table tennis.

 

Unveiling the trophy at a ceremony in Yenagoa yesterday, the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Kate Abiri described sports as a unifying factor, urged Nigerians to embrace one and other.

 

Also in his remark, President of the National Sports Association for Judiciary, Mr. Emeka Ndili said the games would enable Judiciary staff to be physically, mentally, and psychologically fit for the administration of justice.


The National Sports Association for Judiciary came into existence in 1994 while the first edition of the Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports Competition took place in Lagos in 1995.
