The spirit of solidarity, togetherness, and humanity played out, as thousands of notable Nigerians across religious, professions and ethnic affiliations converged in Ibadan, Pace Setter, Oyo state capital to bid farewell to Naa Adjeley Asabea Akano (Nee Otokunor), mother of Hon. Justice O. O. Oyewumi, Presiding Judge, Akure Judicial Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria who slept in the Lord on Saturday 5th January 2019 at the age 101.
The deceased until her death was known for her commitment and service to God and humanity, and flowing from her rich Christian background, she instilled Godly virtues and character into the lives of her children, grandchildren; great-grand children and those around her.
The burial ceremonies started with service of songs on Thursday 7th of February 2019 at Pentonrise Hall, Opposite Housing, Old Bodija, Ibadan with farewell service yesterday Friday 8th February 2019 at Stone Church, Behind NEPA office, Mokola Ibadan.
His Lordship, Hon. Justice B. B. Kanyip led Judges of Industrial Court, among were Hon. Justice O. A. Obaseki- Osaghae, Hon. Justice E. N. Agbakoba; Hon. Justice A. N. Ubaka, Hon. Justice O. Y. Anuwe; Hon. Justice Dele Peters, Hon. Justice O. A. Ogunbowale; Hon. Justice I. J. Essien, Hon. Justice P. A. Bassi and Hon. Justice Mustapha Tijjani.
Also, the gracing occasion was Hon. Justice Bimbo Obaseki-Adejumo JCA.
Others are Chief Registrar, Mr. Olurotimi Daudu, Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Abolarin Olufunke; Director of Admin Olanrewaju Aremo, Director of Audits Alh. AbdulRafiu Bello and many others.
The reception was also held at Daylan Event Hall, Ijokodo Ibadan.
In the same vein, heads of Ibadan and Akure Judicial divisions, Mr. Abana Shuaibu Esq and Tawakalit Lawal Esq also grace the memorable occasion.
Our fervent prayer to God is to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the entire families the grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Verily, a worthy great grand-mother has gone to rest in the blossom of the Lord.
