National Industrial Court of Nigeria on Saturday 15th December 2018 in the final series to round up this year Federation of Public Service Games defeated National Judicial Council 3 – 2 on penalties after a goalless regulation time to clinch the cup.
The President, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo OFR, has congratulated the National Industrial Court Sports Club for their resilience and uncommon sacrifice.
His Lordship sent his congratulations after the final whistle at the Lokoja Stadium, Capital of Kogi State and described Sports as a tool for national unity which must be embraced by all.
Furthermore, The Chief Registrar, Mr. Olurotimi Daudu who was represented by Mr. Ibrahim Safana in solidarity with the team in Lokoja also joined millions of football loving fans in the judiciary in celebrating the very-much improved court team for their ‘expected winning’ during their games and action-soaked encounter.
“Our Court is not only known for Judicial Excellence but also achieving success in all aspects of life.” Said Olurotimi
The Chief Registrar commended the sports committee; Aina A.O, Ireggbu-Obodoukwu O.N, Nkonye Mary-Jane; Ogunbiyi Sampson, Bakare Bolaji, Audu Olarotimi, Segun Bamidele, Musa Aliyu and other team members for displaying unbeatable strength, determination and high professionalism.
Also in his remark, the team coach, Mr. Wale Ogunbiyi praised the entire team for their display of steadfastness and competency.
In all, NICN Sports Club won Champion on Football male category, Volleyball Male category and Handball Male category.
It is also noteworthy to recall that on the 9th of September 2018, NICN Sports Club crushed Rivers State Judiciary 4 - 2 on penalties in the final of the 2018 Chief Justice of Nigeria Annual Sports Festival.
