Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo OFR leads others to attend session at the NBA 2017 AGC

The atmosphere was calm and interesting today at the NBA 2017 ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE holding at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria as His lordship, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo, OFR, President National Industrial Court of Nigeria leads other NICN's top principal officers and staffs to an ADR session of the conference.

The chairman of the session is His lordship, Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, President Court of Appeal. The topic for the session is "The Business of Dispute Resolution: Are you thinking what I'm thinking."

 

The panelists are Chief Bayo Ojo SAN, former Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Wole Olufunwa, Senior Partner Holland Fenwick William LLP, Kehinde Aina a legal practitioner Aina Black's on LLP and Isaiah Boziimo, Partner, Broderie Boziimo and Company.

 

The legal luminaries used the avenue to discuss extensively on the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution towards enhancing efficient justice delivery in a more convenient and suitable platform.

 

Chief Bayo Ojo, former Attorney General of the Federation, in his remark emphasized on the true essence of ADR for easy Dispute resolution. The discussion is also in tandem with the vision of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria under the leadership of His Lordship, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo, OFR for being the first to introduce and put in operation an Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre in 2015. This is being emulated by other courts in Nigeria.

 

His Lordship, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo OFR also stressed the need for lawyers to embrace the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre because ADR is fast, inexpensive particularly when compared to court litigation.

 

The session also gives room for the audience to ask relevant questions and give meaningful contributions to the topic in discuss.

 

Verily, the concept and the use of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre will enhance speedy dispute resolution and facilitate socio-economic growth in the country.
