Tribute To My Father--By Hon. Justice A.O. Obaseki-Osaghae

A man of noble birth, great humility; loving, patient, forgiving, peaceful, a gentleman to the core. A brilliant man full of integrity and impeccable character, the quintessential incorruptible judge; nick named by his colleagues at the Supreme Court "Coke and Littleton". His was a life of dedicated public service to the Nigerian Nation. What a blessing to have you as my father. I am indeed thankful to God for this privilege.

Daddy was a unifying factor in the Gaius-Obaseki and everyone gravitated towards him because he was Father to All. He was prepared to meet his maker after confessing Christ. 

I see Daddy looking down and saying to all of us in his characteristic gentle mien:

 Remember me, Miss me 

But let me go 

To the living, I am gone 

To the sorrowful, I will never return

To the angry, I was cheated

But to the happy, I am at peace

And to the faithful, I have never left

Remember me in your heart, your thoughts

And your memories of the love we share

The time we fought, the time we laughed

For it you always think of me

I will never have gone

Miss me but let me go

This is a journey we will all must take

And each must go alone.

 

 Daddy, Rest in Perfect Peace in the bosom of the Lord.
