The environment was calm and frill today Friday 6th July, 2018, Portharcourt, capital city of Rivers State went agog as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen commissioned the new magnificent edifice of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria portharcourt judicial division built by rivers state government, donated and handed-over to the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen, GCON used the avenue to show appreciation for Gov. Wike for provision of such edifice as this would go a long way in achieving better judicial reform.
The President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo OFR in his goodwill message expressed utmost fulfillment at the commissioning of the court. He expressed boundless and sincere appreciation to the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Gov. Nyesom Wike for his courage and support towards the building of the magnificent and befitting court.
“Let it be on record that this is the first time any State Chief Executive will do what you have done. We will make good use of this building for effective justice delivery.” Says Justice Adejumo
The event witnessed presence of many nationalist, among were His Excellency, Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, Deputy Governor Of Rivers State, royal fathers and top stakeholders from Rivers State and environs.
Others were Justices of Supreme court Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwola, Justice Odili, President of the court of Appeal -Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Justices of Court of appeal, Judges of High Court, Judges of National Industrial Court and many heavy weight law Lords.
