Karaye Agog as Director of Admin, Mohammed Karaye turbaned ‘Garkuwan’

The ancient town of Karaye went agog on Friday 25th February 2022 as the Director of Admin of the National Industrial Court, Mohammed Ibrahim Karaye turbaned as ‘Garkuwan Karaye’ by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Karaye, Alh Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II.


Karaye is a Local Government Area and the headquarters of Karaye Emirate Council in Kano State, Nigeria.  It has an area of 479 km² and accommodates the Kano State National Youth Service Corps orientation camp among other notable public and private istitutions.



While bestowing the noble title to Mr. Karaye, His Royal Highness, Emir of Karaye Alh. Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II said the emirate council considered Mohamed not because he hails from the emirate but for his consistent show of trust, defense, and support for the youth development in the emirate and the state at large.


His Royal Highness added that Mohammed Ibrahim Karaye has written his name in gold in the emirate prayed Allah to preserve him for humanity.



For Mohammed Karaye, his affinity to stand out is not only defined by the niche he has graciously carved for himself in the civil service as a dedicated civil servant who has demonstrated a good heart towards the weak and downtrodden in the society in a deliberate effort to lift them from the oblivion of depravity, denial and prepare them for a better future.


Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Karaye hails from Karaye Local Government of Kano state, North-West Nigeria; he obtained B.Sc. Agriculture at the University of Maiduguri in 2002, Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, at the Nasarawa State University in 2010, and Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, North-East Nigeria in 2013.

Recently, in affirmation of his erudition to the administrative tasks, the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategic Management conferred a ‘Fellow’ title on him.


In his determination to contribute meaningfully to the development and growth of the nation, Mr. Karaye started his Civil Service career at the Federal Capital Territory Water-Board, Abuja in 2003.


In 2007, he transferred his service to the National Industrial Court of Nigeria as Senior Administrative Officer and rose through the ranks to the position of the Director of Administration in 2019.



Mr. Karaye is a thorough disciplinarian and humility personified and has shown over the years his ability to achieve organizational goals and objectives in line with the best global practices.
