[Read] The Profile of an affable Jurist, Hon. Justice Salisu Danjidda

1989 Saturday 11th September 2021

It was Lord Denning, considered by many to be the most celebrated English judge of the 20th century who noted that “A judge's role is to serve the community in the pivotal role of administering justice according to law.”

In the same vein, it was Winston Churchill, the famous British Prime Minister who opined that “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we administer.”

For My Lord, Hon. Justice Salisu Hamisu Danjida, his affinity to stand out is not only defined by the niche graciously carved in the administration of justice but his empathy to see that justice suffer no casualty.

His Lordship hails from Kano State in Gwale Local Government Area. He obtained both primary and secondary Education at the commercial nerve centre of Northern Nigeria, Kano State.

In pursuit of his educational career, he studied Law at the prestigious Bayero University, Kano, and attended Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja Campus in the year 2000 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Upon his successful completion of the Mandatory National Youth Service Corps at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice Danjidda was employed in the public service at the Ministry of Justice Jigawa State in the year 2001.

In 2003, Justice Danjidda cut his teeth as a Chief State Counsel, Ministry of Justice, Kano State. He also served as a Legal Adviser to Muhammad Abubakar Rimi (Sabon Gari) Market Company Ltd, Kano in the year 2008 to 2011.

In recognition of his erudition to judicial sagacity, Justice Danjidda was elevated to the bench as a Judge of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria in 2017 and was sworn in by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice W. S. Onnoghen.

Justice Danjidda has attended many workshops and seminars that are in tune with justice delivery both home and abroad.

His Lordship is presently presiding at the Lagos Judicial division of the Court and has delivered uncountable Judgments and rulings.

My Lord, Justice Salisu Danjidda is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kano Branch, happily married and blessed with children.
