The Management of Odua'a Investment Company Limited has tendered an unreserved apology to the Nigerian Judiciary, particularly the officials and Judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria over an incident of assault with the Court’s bailiffs of Ibadan Judicial Division that occurred on 21st September and 7th October 2020 at their office premises Cocoa House Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State.

While regretting the unfortunate incident through a public apology published on Friday 20th November 2020 via the NATION newspaper, the firm stated that since its establishment, the company and its officials have been reputed for being a very highly responsible corporate citizen that vehemently upholds the tenets of the law, and eschew any form of illegality or disorder, strongly condemned the actions of those responsible for the unfortunate incident and stated emphatically that they did not act at the behest of the management and staff of the veritable organization.

It would be recalled that the court had summoned Group Managing Director of Odua Investment and two other officials of the company over alleged contempt of court sequel to an action filed by one management staff of the company, against the firm.

The Bailiffs had dropped the processes on the table of the front desk officer and was about leaving when they were approached by private security guards attached to the firm who physically assaulted them.

Furthermore, on the 14th of October 2020, the presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Dele Peters moped at the unfortunate incident ruled on the undertaking of the firm Counsel Mr Adenipekun SAN that the company will offer a public apology to the court and the assaulted bailiffs would be handsomely compensated.
