[Read] Excellent Profile of a Humble Jurist, Justice Ibrahim Galadima’s

Hon. Justice Ibrahim Suleiman Galadima hails from Shafan Abakpa (Sofiyo) District in Toto Local Government of Nasarawa State. He attended the University of Jos Primary School and St. Joseph's College in Vom, Plateau State for his Senior Secondary Education.


In pursuit of his ambition, he studied law at the University of Jos, and subsequently attended the Nigeria Law School Bwari, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory between 1998/99, and graduated as one of the best graduating students and was called to the Bar as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.


As destiny had it, upon completion of his National Youth Service year 2000 in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, he joined the chamber of Messrs Rickey Tarfa (SAN) and Co as a pupil counsel, and a year later, he worked with Pius Akubo (SAN) Chamber in Jos, Plateau State.


In the year 2002, at a time when his learned colleagues were panic of the fear of the unknown, little Galadima established his own law firm, Galadima and Co; as luck shined on him, his erudition and the knowledge of law exposed him to the community, the then Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Ahmed Ubangari, appointed him as a Magistrate in the State in 2003.


Thereafter, he rose from Magistrate Grade 1 to Chief Magistrate and in 2014, and was appointed the first Deputy Chief Registrar for Probate by the then Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umaru Dikko, the position he occupied before his current elevation as a Judge of the Superior Court of record, National Industrial Court of Nigeria on the 14th of July, 2017 and was sworn-in by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice W. S. Onnoghen.


However, during his time as a Magistrate in Nasarawa State, he had amongst other things, published a book titled The Nigerian Tenancy and Lease Law (2008); also served as the Chairman of the Magistrates' Association of Nigeria (2010 - 2013); member of the Professor Gye-Wado led committee for the Revision, Compilation and Documentation of the Nasarawa State Laws (2012/13); and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Local Government Elections Petitions Tribunal (2013/14).

 

Justice Galadima is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, Member Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC); member of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA).


Justice Ibrahim Galadima is the first son of the Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima, CFR, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and has travelled widely both home and abroad.


Justice Galadima is currently the presiding Judge, Owerri Judicial Division of the Court, and has delivered many outstanding Judgments and rulings. Milord is happily married and blessed Children.
